The Business Workshop for the International Organizations of the CAST opened up on July 29th

The Business Workshop of the International
Organizations of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST)
was held in China Hall of Science and Technology on July 29th,
2016. Mr. SHANG Yong, the Executive Vice-President and the General
Secretary of CAST spoke in the workshop. LI Jinghai (Vice-President of
CAST, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and International Science Council),
YUAN Yaxiang (Academician of CAS), SONG Jun (CCP member of CAST), WU
Guoxiong (Academician of CAS) and GUO Donghua (Academician of CAS,
President of the International Society for Digital Earth) attended the
workshop. More than 160 science leaders and CAST researchers serving in
the international organizations participated in the meeting.
The CAST and its branches would play a more important
role in the international organizations of science and technology and
lead China to one of the innovative-oriented countries, following
President Xi’s policy and becoming more influential worldly, SHANG said.
SHANG also emphasized that the CAST would promote
China’s status in the international organizations by getting more
Chinese scientists into the world organizations and intriguing more
international organizations to base in China.
