The Special Issue for 1st Joint Conference of PSC and PG has been published

"Palaeobiology and Fossil Lgerstätten:
a tribute and memorial to Adof Seilacher” was recently published as the
special issue of Palaontologische Zeitschrift (PalZ) in Volume 90,
Issue 2 by Springer. The issue was compiled by both of the German and
Chinese scientists. As an issue to conclude the academic achievements
reported in the 1st Joint Conference of the Palaeontological
Society of China (PSC) and the Paläontologische Gesellschaft (PG) in
Gӧttingen, Germany in 2013, it means a great success on the cooperation
of the PSC and PG. PG President Prof. Joachim REITNER from the Gӧttingen
University, PSC Council President Prof. YANG Qun from the NIGP, CAS,
PSC General Secretary Prof. WANG Yongdong from the NIGP, CAS and Prof.
Mike REICH from the Munich University edited the issue together and
wrote the prologue and introduction.
Topic as Palaeobiology and Fossil Lgerstätten, the
issue include 19 peer-viewed articles of which the authors are from
many countries (China, Germany, UK, US, Russia, Netherland, Mexico,
Korea, etc.). In these articles, numerous subjects are discussed such as
the taphonomy, the phylogenetic paleontology, the phylogenetic
evolution, the sedimentology, the paleogeography, the paleoenvironment,
the paleoclimate, and etc, the topics being various from the Precambrian
to the Cenozoic.
The issue is also a memorial to the renowned
German paleontologist Adolf Seilacher, who used to be a Professor in
Gӧttingen University, created the term “Lgerstätten” and made great
contribution to the geobiological research.
