PSC Members Attended the 100th Anniversary Commemorative Celebration of the Paleontological Society

At the invitation of Paleontological Society of Russia (PSR), Prof. WANG Yongdong, the General Secretary of Palaeontological Society of China (PSC), and Prof. CAI Huawei, the Executive Vice General Secretary of PSC attended the 100^th Anniversary of the Paleontological Society of Russia (PSR) and the 62^th Anniversary Celebration from April 3^rd to 9^th, 2016, in St. Petersburg, Russia.

On behalf of the PSC, Prof. Wang addressed the opening ceremony and took the best regards of Prof. YANG Qun, the Chief Executive Officer of the PSC, on April 4^th. He gave warm congratulations to the 100^th Anniversary, concluded the fruitful cooperation between the paleontological societies of Russia and China, and looked into a further progress on the communications and cooperation between the two nations.

The theme of the congress was the 100^th Anniversary and to look into the future paleontological studies. About 120 paleontological researchers from more than 10 countries attended the meeting. The sessions of the meeting included the paleontological methods, the local biostratigraphy, the biological evolutionary rules, the biosphere and the micropaleontology.

The PSC members also visited the Mineral and Paleontological Museum of the Russian Institute of Geology, the Information Center of Library and the Botanical Garden of St. Petersburg. During the visit, the PSC members had a formal bilateral discussion on the future cooperation between PSR and PSC.
