The 5th Session of the 11th PSC Council Meeting opened up on January

The 5th Session of the 11th PSC Council Meeting opened up in Northwest University, Xi’an on
January. The meeting discussed the PSC’s future revolutionary
development and its potential to become more influential. WANG Yongdong,
the General Secretary of the PSC made a speech to report the 2015’s PSC
work on the academic annual meeting, the international communication,
the pop-science of paleontology, the fossil conservation, and the job
referrals. According the government report, the PSC will establish some
pilot programs which allow the society itself to take over certain
government functions, such as the evaluation and review of the
scientific and technological projects, the enaction of the professional
standards, the rating of the professional qualifications in the social
organizations, the training for identifying fossils, the appraisal of
the national fossil parks, the assessment from the third-party and the
determination of the awards to the science and technology.
Furthermore, the PSC made a decision to establish a new branch –
The Committee of Fossil Conservation. This new branch will focus on the
new technology and progress of the fossil conservation.
